Unlocking New Equipment

I love hiking. But, as I have not been doing much of that in recent years, my equipment is rather insufficient. Therefore, I have decided to gather up some essentials.

In Iceland, the main thing to keep in mind is unreliable weather. Iceland lays on the border of the Arctic circle, but at the same time it is influenced by Gulf Stream, which raises the level of temperature above what you would expect in a country that lies up north. These two opposite elements – hot and cold –created the unique weather conditions in Iceland.

I like one particular Icelandic saying that goes as follows: "If you think there is bad weather, wait five minutes." In short, there could be mist one moment, rain the next, and snow in a few hours after that, followed by a beautiful sunny evening.
