Clothing in Iceland

When in Iceland, it is important to have layers. That means, do not bring one piece of very warm and wind/rain resistant jacket only. You need to have at least two other layers of clothes under it. As my outdoor clothing is not so good these days, I have given much thought to what I will enquire.

I waited for the January sales of course, as I am on a budget. What I found are great-looking trekking trousers Linde by LOAP. Made of softshell with an AQUAPRO membrane (8 000 mm resistance) and TECHFLEECE+ technology for providing me with some heat during the journey. Plus they look kinda sexy :)

I managed to snatch out a few pieces of what I thought was thermal underwear at home (thank you, mom and dad). But as it turned out, these were the clothes my dad received in his job as a protective clothing, and I don´t know if they are thermal, but they certainly are fire resistant. So, if there is an ugly case of spontaneous combustion waiting ahead of me, I am safe. Therefore, got Klimatex Fergie thermal set. Also a Nike sportsbra.

I also got a great hat, a few thermal socks, an outdoors mess tin and cutlery.

More on equipment to be found here.
